Description andy 2007-01-24 18:06:35 UTC
Please describe the problem:
I have created a message rule that should move messages starting with the word '**SPAM**' to a folder in my inbox. It doesn't work. If I change the rule so that it moves messages that CONTAIN the word '**SPAM**' then it works. It's not the * characters that are the problem, it still doesn't work if I try a different word for testing purposes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a message rule that should move a message based on the starting word of the subject. Use a word that features in a subject already in your inbox.
2. Highlight all messages in your inbox
3. Press control-Y or choose 'message' -> 'apply filters' from the menu.
4. Nothing happens.

Actual results:
Nothing.

Expected results:
Message(s) move to folder specified in message filter rule.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
All my other rules are working OK. I had this same problem with Kubuntu KDE version. Now I am using Ubuntu but it's the same.

I have exactly the same problem, and this has been buggy for *months* now.

Come on folks, this is not difficult to reproduce (and I guess not so hard
to fix either).

"Subject is" is also broken, probably for the same reason.
