GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 399351
Cannot use chinese input method in register text field "description"
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:23:41 UTC
Please describe the problem: I can't input chinese into the field "Description". My operating system: Debian Linux 2.6.17 #3 SMP Mon Aug 28 13:53:35 CST 2006 i686 GNU/Linux My chinese input method is SCIM. (I have test that fcitx also have not work.) However, I can copy some chinese from other place, and then paste to the field. Also, i can input chinese in some place, such as the name of the account and the transfer window. Steps to reproduce: 1. open a window, such as cash in wallet 2. use chinese input method "SCIM". input sth. 3. Actual results: then you can see nothing is filled to the field "Description". Expected results: the field "Description" is filled by what i input Does this happen every time? yes. Other information:
Created attachment 80882 [details] try to input the chinese
Is this just limited to the Description field? Or does this problem exist for ALL input fields in the register?
Marking this bug as depending on a register rewrite. If someone wants to fix it in the old one, please do it :-)
Did you activate "Embed Preedit String into client window" in scim-setup? Does it help if you remove that flag?
