The attached patch makes Nautilus handle the "volume-changed" signal of GnomeVFSVolumeMonitor proposed in 316403, and also takes advantage of the GnomeVFS volume editing caps. For now, only renaming on the desktop (i.e. modifying of the display name) and in the places sidebar is supported, but another patch will also provide support for the file properties page.

I don't believe this is relevant anymore with how the current Nautilus and GVfs work.
