What were you doing when the application crashed? I ran "dbus-launch rhythmbox" over a ssh (with X) connection from my server/desktop to my laptop. It works good when just typing rhythmbox, but it complained about not finding dbus-this-and-that. so I tried launching it through dbus-launch, in which case it stopped complaining, but crashed in stead...
