Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Without a stack trace from the crash it's very hard to determine what caused it.

Ah. I wasn't aware I had to install special packages in order to get traces. Thanks for the tip ;)

Do other applications (gedit, for example) crash when you try to access that samba share?
