Just opened evolution. It was in the process of fetching mail.

Can you still reproduce this problem or has it been fixed since?

This bug wasn't reproducible when I reported it initially. It would only occasionally crash during a pop fetch. 
Anyway, over the last month there was no such crash, so I guess it's fixed. But that's just wild guessing.
