Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful
in determining the cause of the crash. Could you please install some debugging
packages [1] and reproduce the crash, if possible?

Once bug-buddy pops up, you can find the stacktrace in the "details", now
containing way more information. Please copy that stacktrace and paste it as a
comment here. Thanks!

[1] debugging packages for evolution, evolution-data-server and gtkhtml,
plus debugging packages for some basic GNOME libs. More details can
    be found here:

Comment 2 antalk 2006-11-29 12:16:21 UTC
(1) the problem is not 2.8-specific, evolution often crashed
before I upgraded (from dapper) to edgy, the earlier version was
    probably 2.2.

(2) This (my machine) is an SMP with two
     (AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 248)s
    Kernel: Linux version 2.6.17-10-generic (root@crested)
          (gcc version 4.1.2 20060928 (prerelease)
          (Ubuntu 4.1.1-13ubuntu5)) #2 SMP
           Fri Oct 13 15:34:39 UTC 2006 (Ubuntu 2.6.17-10.33-generic)

(3) libbonobo apparently does not (yet) have a -dbgsym or -dbg version
in deb http://people.ubuntu.com/~pitti/ddebs edgy main universe,
so I could not install that.

(4) the problem seems to be at
