Steps to reproduce the crash: 1. Launch "evince" without opening any document (or open a document without text-search facilities). 2. Press key '/'. 3. Enjoy. Expected Results: Nothing! How often does this happen? Every time '/' is pressed in such conditions. Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately it lacks some information that may help us in finding the cause of the bug. Can you, if possible, attach the file causing the crash (if it does not contain confidential data)? Also this may be a Poppler Bug (the backend used by Evince to render PDF), could you please supply the poppler version and type? You can find it in the Help->About menu in Evince.
If it's a bug, it should be evince bug. But I can't reproduce it with recent HEAD, so it should be fixed already I suppose. Please try latest evince version.
