GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 376984
Incorrect Basis on Advanced Portfolio calculated due to a Split Transaction
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:16:41 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have entered a mutual fund purchase as a split transaction. When viewing this transaction with the Advanced Portfolio the Basis column is calculate as the total value of that split transaction for each fund, instead of the portion of the split transaction that was allocated to that fund. For ex: Account Basis FUND1 2200 FUND2 2200 FUND3 2200 Instead of the correct: Account Basis FUND1 1000 FUND2 400 FUND3 800 Steps to reproduce: 1. Create 3 accounts representing 3 Mutual Funds 2. Create a split transaction allocating money to each fund 3. Enter purchase data in each Fund Account 4. View Advanced Portfolio report Actual results: The Basis is incorrectly reported as the total transaction cost for each fund, instead of only the portion of the transaction that was allocated to that account Expected results: The correct Basis should be reported. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
