crash in dbus, perhaps cause by liboobs Thanks for taking the time to report this bug. Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so. Thanks in advance! please install the liboobs package

Sorry I cannot provide any more information -- I rebuilt Nautilus from source with the updated Dbus libraries and the issue went away.

Created attachment 84378 [details] additional debug info not in original bug report I installed all the Nautilus dbg packages I could find in Synaptic and crashed Nautilus again. If I go into the command line and restart dbus and HAL Nautilus works fine, but as soon as I reboot the problem reappears. I've attempted to give it time to initialize everything by adding a 10 second delay on the automatic login, but that hasn't worked either. Each time I boot or log out and back in I get the "failure to initialize HAL" error and Nautilus does not work.
thank you for your response. however, as stated in comment #2, we kindly ask you to install the liboobs debug package, also, please install the glib debug package. thenautilus package will be of use, too.
