GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 374737
[matroskademux] doesn't recognise opaque "A_AAC" codec ID
Last modified: 2006-11-15 11:20:00 UTC
Download the file from:
It's supposed to be "AAC+SBR" audio. The file shows up as having no audio at all, and an error on the command-line:
** Message: don't know how to handle audio/x-unknown
Also a problem with the fluendo isodemux plugin by any chance?
Audio streams are detected fine for me with qtdemux from -bad CVS (something not entirely right with the number of channels though, but there's a bug for that already somewhere).
It's an mkv file :)
I'm using gstreamer-plugins-good-0.10.4-1.fc6
Sorry, thought it was the same file as in the other bug report (I did wonder about the A_AAC bit though ;)).
Looks like AVI-Mux can produce files like this (according to http://www.alexander-noe.com/video/amg/en_output_options_mkv.html). This is broken according to the matroska spec as far as I can see, but what can you do *sigh*
Seems to be an addition to the official spec. Fixed in CVS:

* gst/matroska/matroska-demux.c: (gst_matroska_demux_add_stream),
Handle opaque/unspecified A_AAC audio codec ID (fixes #374737).
