Description Jean-François Fortin Tam 2006-11-12 16:12:23 UTC
Due to the complete inability to select single photos for import (bug #325687), I wanted to bypass the stupidness and add photos from my existing collection and directory structure by drag and dropping them in the f-spot browser.

What happens is the darn thing copies the files in ~/Photos. Nooooo! I want you to ASK if you want them copied (or better: don't ask, if I told you in the preferences that I don't want you to copy my files for me) or if you want them "linked".

Yet another show stopping annoyance for an amateur photograph who loves very much his directory structure.

Thanks for your soooo nice bug report.

It makes me feel good and proud to contribute to such a stupid darn thing.

For your particular issue, as for all the tools that handles Drag'n Drop, press the supid shift key at the time you drop to NOT copy the images. The mouse icon will even change its status to show you that you will "link" photos to f-spot.

...aw crap, I'm sorry. I realize the tone of my report was shitty, I must have been used to nautilus using the alt key for linking stuff. Or I must have been using a very outdated version. My apologies, I was frustrated of not being able to use f-spot because of an issue like this, pebkac.

no offense...
