What were you doing when the application crashed? Rebooted & just logged into a non-root account. The only new thing was that I had run a package update yesterday (10Nov2006). I've been running Fedore Core 6 for some time now - and this issue popped up only after my last update via Package Updater. Based on a quick search through an RPM query it seems that the following packages got updated (which includes nautilus-cd-burner & nautilus). In the meantime, I'm going to install glib2-debuginfo to get more info in case I encounter the crash again. system-config-printer-0.7.35-1.fc6 gnome-vfs2-2.16.2-1.fc6 nautilus-2.16.2-3.fc6 texinfo-4.8-14.fc6 jwhois-3.2.3-8.fc6 selinux-policy-2.4.3-2.fc6 libX11-1.0.3-5.fc6 eel2-2.16.1-1.fc6 nautilus-cd-burner-2.16.0-5.fc6 gnome-panel-2.16.1-1.fc6 mikmod-3.1.6-39.fc6 system-config-printer-0.7.35-1.fc6 policycoreutils-1.32-2.fc6 cairo-1.2.6-1.fc6 imlib2-1.3.0-3.fc6 gcalctool-5.8.25-1.fc6 redhat-menus-6.7.8-1.fc6 gaim-2.0.0-0.19.beta4.fc6 librsvg2-2.16.1-1.fc6 gqview-2.0.3-1.fc6 gnome-vfs2-2.16.2-1.fc6 speex-1.2-0.1.beta1.fc6 nautilus-2.16.2-3.fc6 selinux-policy-2.4.3-2.fc6 Distribution: Fedora Core release 6 (Zod) Gnome Release: 2.16.0 2006-09-04 (Red Hat, Inc) BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0 System: Linux 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 #1 SMP Mon Oct 16 14:54:20 EDT 2006 i686 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 70101000 Selinux: Enforcing Accessibility: Disabled ----------- .xsession-errors (9 sec old) --------------------- ** (eggcups:2178): WARNING **: IPP request failed with status 1280 ** (eggcups:2178): WARNING **: IPP request failed with status 1280 Debug: Loading Beagle.Util.Conf+IndexingConfig from indexing.xml Debug: Loading Beagle.Util.Conf+DaemonConfig from daemon.xml Debug: Loading Beagle.Util.Conf+SearchingConfig from searching.xml Debug: Loading Beagle.Util.Conf+NetworkingConfig from networking.xml libnm_glib_nm_state_cb: dbus returned an error. Fortunately, this seems consistently reproducible. Here is a new stack trace; this time with the glib2, nautilus, nautilus-cd-burner debuginfo packages installed. If somebody can point me to the right debuginfo package(s) that has the nautilus_directory_* & nautilus_clipboard_* functions (assuming they are not static functions), I could install those too and get a trace anew. Oh wow. I'm also able to see a crash just by clicking on the folder pop-up 'button' on the lower left of the window. It pops up the entire file-system path starting from '/' to the currently open directory and then crashes. I've pasted the stack trace from this crash below for reference since it appears slightly different from the ones above - although I suspect that the root-cause is identical. The .xsession-errors are also interesting here (as also the one nautilus assertion in the .xsession-errors corresponding to the stack traces above). -------- Distribution: Fedora Core release 6 (Zod) Gnome Release: 2.16.0 2006-09-04 (Red Hat, Inc) BugBuddy Version: 2.16.0 System: Linux 2.6.18-1.2798.fc6 #1 SMP Mon Oct 16 14:54:20 EDT 2006 i686 X Vendor: The X.Org Foundation X Vendor Release: 70101000 Selinux: Enforcing Accessibility: Disabled ----------- .xsession-errors --------------------- Xlib: unexpected async reply (sequence 0x9)! warning: the debug information found in "/usr/lib/debug//usr/lib/libnautilus-extension.so.1.1.0.debug" does not match "/usr/lib/libnautilus-extension.so.1" (CRC mismatch). warning: the debug information found in "/usr/lib/debug//usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-1.0/libnautilus-burn-extension.so.debug" does not match "/usr/lib/nautilus/extensions-1.0/libnautilus-burn-extension.so" (CRC mismatch). warning: the debug information found in "/usr/lib/debug//usr/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/libmapping.so.debug" does not match "/usr/lib/gnome-vfs-2.0/modules/libmapping.so" (CRC mismatch). ** (nautilus:3193): CRITICAL **: nautilus_directory_ref: assertion `NAUTILUS_IS_DIRECTORY (directory)' failed ** (bug-buddy:3268): WARNING **: Couldn't load icon for Open Folder -------------------------------------------------- Memory status: size: 118988800 vsize: 0 resident: 118988800 share: 0 rss: 20004864 rss_rlim: 0 CPU usage: start_time: 1163262742 rtime: 0 utime: 552 stime: 0 cutime:488 cstime: 0 timeout: 64 it_real_value: 0 frequency: 0 Backtrace was generated from '/usr/bin/nautilus' (no debugging symbols found) Using host libthread_db library "/lib/libthread_db.so.1".
