What were you doing when the application crashed?
I entered the value 1111101 in Decimal mode and then clicked on Binary. This crashed the application.

Comment 1 Rich Burridge 2006-11-01 20:16:28 UTC
I just tried this with the calculator on my Ubuntu Edgy system
and it didn't crash. The stack trace isn't giving me anything
useful.

Some questions:

1/ Just to confirm we are using the same versions of gcalctool,
what version number does Help->About give you?

2/ What sort of machine is Ubuntu installed on? 32 bit? 64 bit? PPC?

3/ Did you click in the "1"'s and "0" with the mouse or type them
with the keyboard (I tried both - no crash for me).

Thanks.

Actually this is a duplicate of bug #354730. Closing as such.
Yesterday I generated a 5.8.25 version of gcalctool for GNOME 2.16.next
that has this fix in. Hopefully Linux distros will start picking this up soon.

Hi,
I have the same bug my number is #370152.
Now I want to help a little bit :)

1/ Just to confirm we are using the same versions of gcalctool,
what version number does Help->About give you?
Gcalctool 5.8.24

2/ What sort of machine is Ubuntu installed on? 32 bit? 64 bit? PPC?
32bit

3/ Did you click in the "1"'s and "0" with the mouse or type them
with the keyboard (I tried both - no crash for me).

Before the crash I clicked the Result(=) Button with the mouse.

I had Gaim, Firefox and Nautilus running. I switched to a Gaim Chat with alt+Tab and when i switched back GcalcTool was crashed..

If any other Questions, pls let me know :)

Thanks. I'm still convinced that this is a duplicate of bug #354730
and you'll see the fix when your distro picks up gcalctool v5.8.25.
