What were you doing when the application crashed?
Every time I slect Gnome menu bar System -> Administration -> Time and Date the Time and Date control panel crashes.  All other function appears to be unaffected.  Right-click on the Gnome menu bar clock does allow time zone, time and date to be set without problem.
