GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 366466
Background colour in search
Last modified: 2018-05-24 11:59:25 UTC
(I admit, this is a very petty bug! :)) Rhythmbox and Evolution have a very similar search box, but different background colours when a search is active. It would be ideal if both applications used the same colour. As Rhythmbox uses the same yellow colour as Epiphany does for https connections (and the address bar doubles as a search field) this could potentially confuse someone. Maybe Rb should follow Evolution? Evolution uses #4b6983.
When you going to change the background colour, please also change the foreground colour. Right now the foreground colour is taken from the gtk theme, but the background colour is not. This is a problem with inverse themes that use a light foreground colour, e.g. the HighcontrastInverse accessibility theme. Or maybe you can use a colour pair from the active gtk theme?
Ubuntu bug about that: https://launchpad.net/rhythmbox/+bug/88666
Created attachment 100218 [details] The search box in both states under the Darklooks theme Added a screenshot of the problem including non-active and active states.
I should mention, I'm using version 11.3.
This should be marked as duplicate. Look at #497936 and #473823.
