Description Filip Palm 2006-10-28 08:21:45 UTC
Another problem on www.expressen.se:
Before being redirected to a page explaining that i don't have Quicktime 6+ installed (bug 366145) the browser-plugin tries to play a "video" anyway and fails because there is no support for application/x-extension-qtif.

This "video"/"image" can't be opened by anything i have, including Totem.

Comment 2 Bastien Nocera 2006-10-28 11:14:26 UTC
I filed bug 366217 about adding QTIF support to gdk-pixbuf.
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2006-10-28 11:15:43 UTC
Once support is added in gdk-pixbuf, we'll need to modify GStreamer to add support to it, as well as xine-lib and the browser plugin itself.
Comment 4 Tim-Philipp Müller 2006-10-28 17:24:09 UTC
Added a typefinder to GStreamer:

 2006-10-28 Tim-Philipp Müller <tim at centricular dot net>

        * gst/typefind/gsttypefindfunctions.c: (qtif_type_find),
        (plugin_init):
Add typefinder for QuickTime Image Files (see #366156).

Hi Filip,
as Gstreamer and gdk-pixbuf support are in place now, if you have time, could you please check again whether this issue still happens in Totem 3.2 and update this report by adding a comment and changing the "Version" field and provide information about your distribution? Thanks a lot.
Comment 6 Akhil Laddha 2012-03-22 04:26:25 UTC
Filip, did you get a chance to verify the problem with latest version ?
Comment 7 Bastien Nocera 2012-04-02 16:31:23 UTC
The issue will still happen.
Comment 8 Bastien Nocera 2014-04-30 11:22:02 UTC
The browser plugin has been removed from Totem. See this post for more details:
