Description Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2006-10-24 18:02:07 UTC
Please describe the problem:
In OOo Writer (2.0.4), pressing Escape to get out of the Wizards submenu of the File menu causes focus to be on Wizards. Orca, however, reports "Format menu".

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Orca
2. Launch OOo Writer
3. Press Alt F for the File menu
4. Press W to open the Wizards submenu
5. Press Escape to close the Wizards submenu

Actual results:
The Wizards submenu closes, focus is on Wizards, and Orca says "Format menu".

Expected results:
The Wizards submenu would close, focus would be on Wizards, and Orca would say "Wizards menu"

Does this happen every time?
Yes

This appear to be yet another OOo bug. I've filed issue #70922
against it.

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=70922

I've attached a standalone Python script (no Orca code involved - just
at-spi calls), that reproduces the problem.

Marking this bug as "blocked".

Removing target milestone from [blocked] bugs. We have little control over them, so we're better off letting priority and severity be our guide for poking the related components.
Comment 4 Willie Walker 2007-05-25 17:18:27 UTC
The underlying bug has been marked as FIXED. Rich, please verify and close this bug if appropriate.
Comment 5 Rich Burridge 2007-05-29 16:40:57 UTC
This seems to be nicely fixed in the OOo 2.2.1 RC2 (build OOF680_m17)
snapshot I downloaded from their website. Closing as FIXED.
