GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 363527
Multiple error dialogs appear when no internet connection exists
Last modified: 2006-10-20 09:43:12 UTC
Please describe the problem: If I disconnect myself from the internet, rhythmbox will obviously continue to try to check RSS feeds for new podcasts. However, when it encounters an error, it will produce many error dialogs, depending on the length of time I am disconnected, sometimes filling the screen to the point where I'd rather kill the process than click OK on each dialog. Steps to reproduce: 1. Populate rhythmbox with podcast RSS feeds 2. Let rhythmbox check for podcasts every hour 3. Take down the internet connection Actual results: Given time, popups...lots of popups Expected results: If an error popup is already displayed, do not display another. Alternatively, and probably preferable, as indicated by the Gnome Human Interface Guidelines ( http://developer.gnome.org/projects/gup/hig/2.0/windows-alert.html#alerts-error ), show errors which were not caused by user interaction in the statusbar or something else non-intrusive. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
