Description A 2006-10-11 18:03:46 UTC
Please describe the problem:
i should be able to pull a cell into my sheet from another gnumeric file using relative reference, this doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce:
1. create file
2. save it as 'test.gnumeric'
3. type something in cell A1 (in Sheet1)
4. save the file
5. create another file
6. save the second file in the same directory as step 4. (use a different name)
6. in cell A1 type '=[test.gnumeric]Sheet1A1'
7. read the error

Actual results:
the error says this:

Unknown workbook 'test.gnumeric'

Expected results:
the cell in the second file should pull its value from the first file

Does this happen every time?
yes

This works fine in 1.7.x, although the referenced file needs to be open.
(There is another bug report for that already.)

For completeness, the second step 6 above is missing a '!' before "A1".

ok, thanks. i'll try that.

an aside, why not allow editing of bug reports?

(as you can see, i make typos)
