Description Scott Robinson 2006-10-04 09:20:50 UTC
Please describe the problem:
https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/network-manager/+bug/31286

When someone has their keyring locked, and is assocating to a secured network at login, the prompt appears twice.

This reliably occurs at login. It may still be occuring from suspend / resume.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have a locked keyring with a wireless password in it.
2. Login to GNOME in the presence of only the locked wireless network.
3. nm-applet prompts twice for the passphrase.

Does this happen every time?

I can confirm this with nm-applet 0.6.3/Edgy. It doesn't happen every time, but around 90% of the time. When I enter the passphrase quickly in the first instance, it does not ask me the second time around.

I think this is a dup of gnome bug# 341297.

I confirm this happens most (if not all) the time, and is quite annoying.

Some additional info:

The first time, the keyring requests the password for the keyring "default". The second time, it asks for the "default keyring". I believe the default keyring on my system is the "login" keyring. I also have a keyring named "default".

Why nm-applet needs acess to *two* keyrings is another topic...
