Description Alexander van Loon 2006-10-02 09:26:20 UTC
I'm using a Logitech G5 mouse. This mouse has an extra thumb button, which is used by default as the back button for web browsing.

In Windows XP SP2 the thumb button works as the back button in webbrowsers by default, I didn't need to install any Logitech driver. If I did install a Logitech driver, I could choose to assign another function to the thumb button.

In Ubuntu 6.10 beta the thumb button of my G5 isn't detected as the back button like in Windows XP. Ubuntu assigns it the same function as my left mouse button. And in Preferences -> Mouse I have no option to change the behaviour of my thumb button. My only option is editing xorg.conf, which is not user friendly. So I hope something could be done to fix this problem.
