GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 357095
Mini-calendar is missing from the calendars view
Last modified: 2006-09-22 09:42:58 UTC
I recently tried upgrading evolution from 2.6.2 to 2.8.0. When I went to my calendar, I noticed that the two-month calendar view which used to be to the right of the appointment list was no longer there; all that was in that area were a memo and task list (which I never use). I searched through the menus but could not find any means of redisplaying the mini-calendar. I find the mini-calendar extremely useful for two reasons: 1) it gives me a quick overview of what days I have appointments on, and 2) it allows me to quickly switch to other dates (within the months displayed). I found that there is a one-month calendar available by clicking on "Go To", but this is less convenient because I can't see what other appointments I may have without clicking on it, and it now takes at least 2 clicks to choose another date instead of one. Other information: Due to this and other problems with 2.8.0 (bug #357078, bug #357090), I've switched back to version 2.6.2. I need this for work. This may related to bug 356883. I didn't see the mini-calendar anywhere on my window, but it seems to me that the sidebar is a bad place to put it because it takes away more space from the folder list (I have quite a large number of folders and sub-folders) from which the view buttons already take up a considerable amount of space. This may be related to bug 354775, but as I said before I didn't see any mini-calendar that could be moved or resized.
