GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 356986
at-spi Shortcut Configurator Does Not Create Certain Shortcuts
Last modified: 2007-02-14 17:10:14 UTC
Please describe the problem: Whatever /usr/lib/at-spi/at-spi-registryd --oaf-activate-iid=OAFIID:Accessibility_Registry:1.0 --oaf-ior-fd=45 is, this thing does not let me create certain advanced shortcuts with alt, super-key, etc. Steps to reproduce: 1. Load up configurator; 2. Set toggle maximization state to following key presses (Right Windows Key and =) Actual results: The thing sets toggle maximization state to Super_R (without =) Expected results: Super_R + = should be the new binding. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: This is incredibly annoying, and I don't want to edit gconf things to make this work.
Matt, what is configurator? any link for it?
It is gnome-keybinding-properties, I believe. Nowadays it is in System > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts in Ubuntu. ps aux | grep key 21222 ? S 0:00 gnome-keybinding-properties matt@graphite:[1009]:~% dpkg -S gnome-keybinding-properties gnome-control-center: /usr/bin/gnome-keybinding-properties matt@graphite:[1010]:~% dpkg -l gnome-control-center ii gnome-control- 2.14.2-0ubuntu utilities to configure the GNOME desktop
Why are you so sure it is at-spi-registryd's problem? I turned off the accessibility support, and logout/login. (Note there isn't at-spi-registryd in system.) gnome-keybinding-properties still doesn't work with Super_R + = .
Yes, same results with Li Yuan. On Solaris, the right windows key is mapped to <Mod4> and it works. On ubuntu, the right windows key is mapped to Super_R and cannot be used as a modify key. So it doesn't work. Whether at-spi-registerd is running doesn't change the behavior.
