Thanks for the bug report. Unfortunately, that stack trace is not very useful in determining the cause of the crash. Can you get us one with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so.

Please don't forget to set the "Version" field so we know which version of rhythmbox you are using.

Comment 6 Alex Lancaster 2006-10-12 08:21:29 UTC
A common element in these reports appears to be that they are trying to access
music on Samba shares (via smb://) maybe via gnome-vfs?
Comment 7 Jonathan Matthew 2006-10-12 11:45:11 UTC
Given the stack trace, the properties of any given entry (such as its location) are irrelevant. All that matters is the source that was selected when the user hit alt-enter or used the menu item. The stack trace indicates the source that is selected does not implement the 'song_properties' method. The only source that does not do this is the import errors source.

patch

disables the music->properties item if the selected source has no impl_song_properties method
Comment 9 James "Doc" Livingston 2006-10-16 07:03:41 UTC
Looks good to me, although can_show_properties should probably be and-ed with have_selection so it isn't enabled when no tracks are selected.

can_show_selection is only set if have_selection is true (diff context doesn't show the if statement, though). Otherwise, the default value is false.
