xgl and compiz running (--accel xvideo=fbo)
started high definition movie (elephantsdream-1024-h264-st-aac.mov)
everything runs normally but this movie
backend for totem is xine

Do you get any error messages on the command-line when that happens?
Please attach the error messages as well as a backtrace with debugging symbols:
