Description Andrew Clausen 2006-09-10 13:56:42 UTC
Please describe the problem:
In the document

http://scholar.google.com/url?sa=U&q=http://lema.smeal.psu.edu/msis597a/sessions/jackson_crash.pdf

the "fi" glyphs appear in evince as "ff".

Steps to reproduce:
1. Download the above document.
2. Open in evince.
3. Search for a word with "fi" in it. Eg: "specific", "finite, "infinite". Note that the search doesn't work very well either (the text is stored incorrectly?)

Actual results:
You will see incorrectly rendered text.

Expected results:
fi not ff

Does this happen every time?
yes

WFM here with poppler 0.5.4 and evince 0.6.1.

Not reproducible, closing. Feel free to reopen if you can reproduce, but please provide more info like the versions of Evince and Poppler.
Comment 3 Andrew Clausen 2006-12-23 22:57:23 UTC
I'm using poppler 0.5.1 and evince 0.5.2 (from Ubuntu).

Perhaps it's been fixed since then.

Is there a convenient way for me to test poppler 0.5.4 and evince 0.6.1?
(i.e. less than 5 minutes of my attention.)

Apt-get update? ;)
