GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 354636
"Automatically resize the window when a new video is loaded" and "Fit Window to Movie" do not work
Last modified: 2006-09-07 11:25:55 UTC
Please describe the problem: Though "Automatically resize the window when a new video is loaded" is checked, loading a new movie doesn't result in Totem fitting the window to the dimensions of the movie. Requesting such a resize through "Fit Window to Movie" doesn't remedy the situation. Steps to reproduce: 1. Make sure "Automatically resize the window when a new video is loaded" is checked in the Preferences. 2. Open a movie of some type - I've tried with different .avi and .mov. 3. The Totem window doesn't resize itself to fit to the movie dimensions. 4. Select "Fit Window to Movie" -> "Resize 1:1" (it doesn't matter whether it is 1:2, 1:1 or 2:1). Actual results: The Totem window doesn't resize itself to fit to the movie dimensions. Expected results: The Totem window is expected to resize itself to fit to the movie dimensions. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: I'm reporting this bug against Totem 2.16.0 though I've experienced it with the previous release (1.5.92) as well. Back then when I came upon this problem with Totem 1.5.92, I downgraded to 1.5.91 and it didn't have the problem. Right before reporting this bug, I downgraded from 2.16.0 to 1.5.91 again and the old version didn't exhibit the described problem. I'm using the GStreamer 0.10 backend from its latest (as of today) release sources.

I feel stupid because I logged this bug report in less than 5 minutes but I spent more than 15 minutes prior to it looking for an existing report. I'll try to be more thorough next time.
No worries, that's why we have Bugzilla for :)
