Please describe the problem:
When trying to edit the preferences for gweather, the preferences dialog takes a couple minutes to load, during which it hogs CPU time.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Right click on the panel icon for gweather, and select "preferences"

Actual results:
The dialog takes a minute or more to load, and hogs CPU time.

Expected results:
It should take the dialog only a few seconds to load.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.
