Description Clark Haynes 2006-08-14 13:58:15 UTC
I was just noticing the behavior of the notification area when you use multiple desktops, namely that if you put a notification area on each desktop, only one of them gets used. I was wondering if it would be useful to have the application's notification area icon appear in the notification area closest, i.e. on that desktop area if you have one there. I suspect this would be the easy fix in code. The hard fix would be to have the notification area icons move from screen to screen as you moved an application from screen to screen.

The reason I think this is useful is because it's intuitive where the application will appear when you click on the icon. Applications I use with notification area are Gaim and Liferea, and both minimize to that icon, so you have to click on that icon to have them reappear.
