GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 351041
GPG with smartcard doesn't work - Evolution crashs
Last modified: 2006-08-12 14:18:01 UTC
Please describe the problem: When you gonna sign an email evolution shows a prompt to type in the passphrase. If you use gpg with a smartcard, there isn't a passphrase, but instead of you have a PIN for your cryptocard which gpg askes for and it seems that evolution can't handle the commandline prompt of gpg when asking for the PIN. Steps to reproduce: 1. Setup gpg for usage with a smartcard. 2. Setup evolution to use you signing key on the smartcard by specifying the corresponfing key id. 3. Try to send a message (with enabled signing) Actual results: Evolution freezes. Expected results: That a prompt becomes shown for entering the smartcard pin. Does this happen every time? yes Other information: See also http://www.fsfe.org/en/fellows/ph3/krypto_blog/openpgp_smartcard_support_fuer_evolution_1_4_6
