Description Boyan Brezinsky 2006-08-10 12:56:41 UTC
Currently the only way I've found for resizing an object is via dragging the handles with the mouse. However, there is no way to set a specific scale to the operation - say, one wants to make the object exactly half its original size. And there is no way to make several different shapes of the same class (e. g. several rectangles) the same size. Something that could be achieved, if there was the possibility to apply a scale operation with specific numeric values to a selected object, or even to multiple selected objects.
Comment 1 Lars Clausen 2006-12-03 06:38:01 UTC
Agreed. There's been some work done on making the dimensions of an object modifiable, but it ran into infrastructure problems of when what gets updated.
Comment 2 Łukasz Stelmach 2008-12-12 11:42:40 UTC
I would add even more, a dialog to input dimensions including real world units. With such dialog it would be posible to do simple architectural drawing (eg. how to place your furniture in the living room).
Comment 3 Łukasz Stelmach 2008-12-12 11:44:05 UTC
BTW, there should be a dialog for "numeric" object placement too.

See bug 328200 for details.
