The main menu on the Gnome panel is drawn differently from panel launchers. This results in an ugly panel (will attach a screenshot to illustrate the problem).

This doesn't happen with other themes like Industrial or Glider. I'm running gtk-engines HEAD.

Bug 319845 is about the same issue and contains a patch to fix this.
