Description Christian Neumair 2006-08-04 21:36:13 UTC
Extensions should be able to register keybindings for menu items (i.e. NautilusMenuItems). Having such a keybinding for the nautilus-open-terminal extension would be nice, for instance.

Retargeting to 2.24 per the Roadmap. Let's get this in Manny ;)

Current state seems to be this:

It is possible to assign keybindings, at least as long as the gconf value /desktop/gnome/interface/can_change_accels is true.
But at the moment, this works only for extensions in the file menu (background context, "open terminal" is an example that should work), but not for extensions in the edit menu (file context, like file-roller).
Comment 4 André Klapper 2021-06-18 15:13:32 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version of Files (nautilus), then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
