Description Martin Ejdestig 2006-08-04 12:18:52 UTC
When removing files from the library with "Watch my library" enabled, files aren't instantaneously removed from the library but requires a restart.
Comment 1 Alex Lancaster 2006-08-04 13:22:19 UTC
This may not exist in the most recent version of rhythmbox, a lot changes were made with respect to the library watch feature can you retest with 0.9.5 or later?
Comment 2 Martin Ejdestig 2006-08-04 14:04:48 UTC
I can't test 0.9.5 right now.

Oh, btw... what I meant to say was that when you remove the files from disk they aren't instantaneously removed from rhythmbox's database. ("When removing files from the library"... "files aren't instantaneously removed from the library" doesn't make any sense... ;)
Comment 3 Martin Ejdestig 2006-08-04 15:40:16 UTC
Hummm... I just tested 0.9.5 (on a Debian Testing machine remotely via SSH) and there file watching doesn't work at all.

Don't know if its a regression in Rhythmbox or something with the setup of that particular machine. At least all the gstreamer-0.10 plugins needed to import the file I tested with seemed to be installed (yes, I've been bitten by this one when dist-upgrading to Dapper and 0.10 was used instead of 0.8 ;) .
Comment 4 Martin Ejdestig 2006-10-31 14:15:34 UTC
I've now tested with 0.9.6 (in Edgy) and it is still reproducible.
Comment 5 Martin Ejdestig 2006-10-31 14:20:47 UTC
D'OH! Forget that. Seems to work. Closing.
Comment 6 Martin Ejdestig 2007-08-02 13:58:21 UTC
I ran in to this again today. Moved a directory out of ~/Music and onto the desktop. Files still present in Rhythmbox. Clicking on them does nothing.
