Description Jaime Frutos Morales 2006-08-03 17:47:26 UTC
I've written a handler to search Google, Yahoo and Flickr for CC licensed contents. It uses the CC search web http://search.creativecommons.org

I would like to add some user preferences to this handler to choose the kind of license to look for, but I don't know if it's possible for a handler to have its own preferences. I sent a mail to the list asking this [http://mail.gnome.org/archives/deskbar-applet-list/2006-August/msg00009.html]

This is part of the Gnome & Creative Commons integration project [http://wiki.creativecommons.org/Gnome_Integration]

Version 0.2 of CC Search handler

I've released a new version of CC Search handler.

New features:
  - It has a preference dialog to choose what search engine to use (Google,Yahoo and/or Flickr) and what license options to search for.
  - It remembers user options (using GConf)
  - It shows the search results web directly, instead of showing the search.creativecommons.org web with the search results embedded.

Could it be included in the next release cycle?

We don't include any new handlers because the core distribtion only contains the essential handlers. New one should be available on awebsite (or this bugzilla) and be installed by the users.

You can continue to publish fixes here

The module doesn't support the post 2.20 API. Therefore, it doesn't work anymore.
