Please describe the problem:
It's very annoying when I close Pan, or log out of GNOME, or Pan crashes, and forgets that I just read 200 messages--all the messages show up as unread the next time I launch it.

Pan should save its state occasionally to lessen the impact of an unexpected shutdown.
