GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 349230
Change sort order to "most recent windows' order (as in alt+tab)
Last modified: 2007-06-29 19:54:24 UTC
Hi, sometimes I have 10+ gvim instances with different files opened, when writing in one I usually switch to the browser to lookup some function on an online api webpage, then I returned to the document I was editing via ALt+Tab (opens last used document-> COOL) . In contrast, if I press the Gvim option in bottom panel in opens a stacked list with 10+ files where I have to read one by one to search the last one I was editing. So I just want that the bottom panel stacked window list matches the Alt+Tab behaviour so the last used window is at the top most (or bottom most) of the stacked list... Also if you don't like this as a default behaviour I wonder if you still like it as an alternative one under a gconf key...
Is this the same suggestion as found in bug 52225 comment 16 (if so, see bug 52225 comment 17), or is it about the order if windows in the pop-up that comes up when you click on a grouped task?
Yes, my request is only for the grouped task list[1], not the individual task list items. And as said in bug 52225 comment 17, it could be a little confusing for someone that doesn`t know the group is ordered by 'most recent used'[2], but that is the Alt+Tab behaviour and I think the preferred behaviour when you're working with a grouping task list of 5+ items... in concrete the 'last used' should be at the bottom most of the grouped list so it's faster to reach it with the mouse. [1] That's when all gvim instances are put together in a stack list because they don't fit individually in the task list
[2] That's why I suggest the gconf key P.S. Sorry I forgot the above..
I've created bug 452350 about making the sort order configurable. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 452350 ***
