Description Oliver C. 2006-07-16 02:49:34 UTC
The ieee1394 (Firewire) interface does not only transmit
video data.
It can also be used to get the audio data from a videocamera.

Ekiga could be improved in a way so that it can use the ieee1394 interface as a source for audio data.
Or in other words, use the videocamera as audio recording device (microphone)
and getting it via the ieee1394 interface.

Ekiga does not make use of this audio stream at the moment, which
can be transmitted via the iee1394 interface.
That's a pity. :(

So i hope this feature will be added to ekiga soon.
With such a feature, a user wouldn't need an extra microphone anymore.
This could especially be a nice feature for notebook users.
