Description Dimitrios 2006-07-11 08:36:54 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When a panel is made transparent and "expansion" is enabled then the panel looks great and its fully transparent.

When a panel that is NOT expanded (it sits in the center of the display) and is made transparent, then only the "main body" becomes transparent. The panel has two grey (or gray if you prefer) areas on the sides.

As a result, it looks very ugly.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Create a new panel (for example, aligned at the bottom)
2. Disable expansion of the panel
3. Enable full transparency
4. Look at the ugly panel

you may also enable expansion and compare the two panels, you'll see how much nicer the expanded panel is without the grey areas on the side.

Actual results:
An ugly panel

Expected results:
A nice fully transparent panel

Does this happen every time?
Always

Other information:
I understand that these grey areas are for a reason there (i'm not sure why, i clicked them and they didn't do anything here)... but it would be nice if they were transparent as well.

Maybe add an option to remove them?

This is actually an important issue, because if we try to use ANY coloured background or image then those grey areas spoit the whole effect with their grey-ness.
