GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 347189
Need for a FOnt Management System Integrated into GNOME
Last modified: 2006-09-17 13:53:14 UTC
As per the discussion here: http://mail.gnome.org/archives/usability/2006-March/msg00203.html a major hole at present is the lack of a font management system for GNOE. Note that I have logged this bug/enhancement request under "Nautilus" following the logic that fonts are files to be managed but, in reality, it would probably even have its own independent application or applet. Can this please be considered? Ultimately, it would be wonderful to have integrated font and color management in GNOME for DTP applications to use (a huge hole at present) even if we start with Printshop style programs, before progressing to Serif/Microsoft Publishers, rather than huge projects like an Adobe InDesign or Quark clone. Some KDE have already started work on a PRintshop clone called KreetingKard. A font system is vital for these kinds of tools but also for management of fonts by regular users and the easy transport of these files.
Seems like you've filed the same bug twice! Please, just one is enough most of the time! I'm closing this one as the duplicate, as it really shouldn't be a nautilus bug... *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 355691 ***
