Description Sébastien Bertrand 2006-07-06 22:02:07 UTC
To desactivate dpms when playing a movie as same totem desactivate the screesaver.
I must use a command "xset -dpms" before playing a movie...

Other information:
For information about dpms, use "xset q"
Comment 1 Bastien Nocera 2006-07-07 09:25:32 UTC
Well, thanks, but this is the job of the screensaver to control DPMS. Users shouldn't have to use xset at all.
Both xscreensaver and gnome-screensaver are able to put the display on DPMS after some inactivity. You shouldn't ever have to call xset directly, or care about whether the DPMS is going to be switched on soon.

In fact, this bug is a bug from the gnome-manager-preference.
