thubnails of new versions of a photo is not shown

Please describe the problem: If the photo is touched with f-spot and a modified version is default, there is no thumbnail shown in browser. Steps to reproduce: 1. Just modify a photo within f-spot 2. leave the modified version of the photo as default Actual results: no thumbnail is shown in browser Expected results: a thumbnail of the default version must be shown in browser Does this happen every time? yes Other information: when original version is selected thumbnail comes back

Can you explain a bit more: - which version are you using - is it happening with every picture or just some ? - it it happening with all the 'edit' functions ? - when you run f-spot from the command-line, do you see things related to this issue in the console ? If yes, copy this log here...

Hi Ercin, the thumbnails generation code is now fixed in cvs. Does your bug still happens with latest CVS ?
nope... still the same, i am selecting the images without thumbnails and try "Refresh Thumbnails" but nothing happens. I have removed the Photos.db file and imported all photos again, but after a modify there is no thumbnail ... :'( Could it about locale? I am using tr_TR.UTF-8 and photos from my camera is imported with lowercase file names (I > idotless and i > Iabovedot) as ımg_*** (first character is idotless :)).
Oh, yeah... it's about file name, in turkish IMG is converted to lowercase as ımg (fistchar is idotless) but when i imported some images for my camera in C locale filename is img*** and when i modify the image thumbnail is been updated... character conversion problem, again :( My suggestion is to provide an option to specify "imported photo filename" or something similar like IMG_0001.jpg > 000001.jpg :) and please can you add batch file rename, please :) ?

f-spot is not under active development anymore, has not seen code changes for five years, and saw its last tarball release in the year 2010. Its codebase has been archived: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Archive/f-spot/commits/master Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is deprecated) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
