GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 346370
images stay in the camera after importing (+ no user control about it)
Last modified: 2006-10-18 23:56:33 UTC
Please describe the problem: While importing photos from the camera, the pictures are not moved from the camera (just copied instead), so the memory card capacity is shrinking, and the same images are imported again, when trying to import new ones! This makes f-spot completely useless for digital camera users -- they are pushed to delete images one by one from the camera level after importing them to f-spot, it doesn't make a sense. Steps to reproduce: 1. import photos from your digital camera 2. take some new shots with your camera 3. import photos again Actual results: The same pictures you have imported at first, are imported again and the memory card is getting full; the program leaves the user with absolutely no influence about it. Expected results: Pictures ate deleted from the camera after the import is finished (unless you check dedicated button to leave the pictures in the camera). Does this happen every time? yes Other information: even the corresponding check button (which state is remembered by the program) would solve the roblem.
this raises 2 bugs for me: - images not deleted from camera: dup of bug #321596 - images imported twice from camera: ... > This makes f-spot completely useless for digital camera users -- they are > pushed to delete images one by one from the camera level after importing them > to f-spot, it doesn't make a sense. your camera surely has a 'delete all' or 'format card' capabilty
