GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 346317
"new" button not translated when switching to "text below symbols"
Last modified: 2013-09-13 00:51:23 UTC
start evolution with LANG=fa_IR.utf8. take a look at the new button. start gnome-ui-properties. if you use "only text" or "text next to symbols", "New" will be translated. if you use "text below symbols", "New" will not be translated. same happens with fr_FR.utf8 and de_DE.utf8. running the guadec holiday version here (means: havent checked out 2.7.3 from cvs for a week).
reassigning to srini.

Created attachment 69942 [details] [review] propesed patch Threre is extra space around "New" text. Srini, is this your intentional code?
It was added by Oswald for padding. May be we should pad it in a different way. We should remove the spaces for now. Thanks for your patch. Approved to commit to HEAD. (It wont break any freeze as for as i know :)
uhm... how many places where we abuse whitespaces as an ugly hack to work around design issues...? sigh. "for padding"? perhaps we should just get rid of bonobo. :-/ hiroyuki, please commit. no email to gnome-i18n needed, as the plain "New" string is already part of the translation files.
Fixed to HEAD.
