I recently upgraded from gnome 2.12.x to 2.14.x, and a common nautilus action I used to do now requires an extra (annoying) step.

Problem: search as you type pops up a small search entry in the bottom right, you can find an item, and hit enter to open it (as before). With nautilus 2.14, however, you can no longer do <shift>Enter to open the selected folder/item and close the parent one. Now, you first need to hit escape to get rid of the search entry, then hit <shift>Enter.

As a huge fan of spatial mode, having this quick browsing step not work is painful. ):
