Description Bill Wohler 2006-06-08 00:50:26 UTC
Please describe the problem:
If you have lots of splits and need to delete a few, what happens now is that the focus moves to the main transaction after deleting a split so you have to navigate back to where you were before deleting the next split.

What would be more usable is that when the split is deleted, the latter transactions should move up to fill the void, leaving the top of the screen fixed (I think that is the case now). The focus should then essentially not move physically, although logically the focus will then be on the split after the deleted split. If there aren't any splits after the deleted split, the focus should move up to the previous split.

This will make it quick and easy to delete several adjacent splits since no movement will be necessary.

I agree, but... practically, this is WONTFIX. This behavior hasn't changed recently - it was just so it 1.8.12. Nobody's interested in making this kind of improvement to the existing register because it is in the process of being rewritten from scratch. For now, I'm marking this as RFE, but hopefully it will become obsolete.
Comment 2 Bill Wohler 2006-06-08 15:20:29 UTC
As long as this is a requirement for the register rewrite, I'm happy.

Just checking my bugs to see if they are fixed, obsolete, or still
applicable.

This issue is still at large in 2.2.4.
