GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 344219
must utf8-validate input data to avoid corrupting datafile
Last modified: 2018-06-29 21:07:27 UTC
We must, at least, utf8-validate imported data, so that we don't write out a datafile that will be mis-parsed on input. This is in lieu of actual changes to correctly dialog with the user to determine the charset of the being-imported data.
See Bug#344170.
Since the lack of validation causes actual data loss (perhaps lots and lots of it), shouldn't the severity be critical? Not sure it affects much though. --Yours in the interest of accurate bookkeeping :)
Changing component to Import.
Fixed in r14361 for version 1.9.8.
