GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 343549
gnome-screensaver gives no option for individual screensaver settings.
Last modified: 2006-06-01 08:15:46 UTC
That pretty much sums it up. I'm not sure if it did in the past or if that was x-screensaver I was using. Nevertheless, most all x-screensavers are configurable as to how they display. You can adjust these settings in KDE and in the x-Screensaver package but gnome-screen saver doesn't give you any options at all. This is pretty basic stuff. Microsoft Windows and KDE have been offering this functionality since day one.

Those bugs are "resolved". They are no longer active. This one is new....
