Description carney1979 2006-05-23 11:08:30 UTC
Please describe the problem:
Deleted files (in ~/.Trash) do not cause the trash applet to display as "full".
Trash applet always displays as "empty" unless USB jump drive is mounted and
there is trash in it's .Trash-$USER folder. Then trash applet shows full.
Selecting "Open" from the trash applet's menu ALWAYS opens (or tries to open if
unmounted) the USB jump drive's trash folder. It NEVER opens ~/.Trash. You
cannot delete items from ~/.Trash from the trash applet.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Delete file in Nautilus
2. Nautilus moves deleted file to ~/.Trash
3. Trash applet still shows empty.

Actual results:

Expected results:
I would expect the trash applet to show "full" and I would expect to be able to
empty my trash.

Does this happen every time?
Yes. For months. Quite annoying!!!

Other information:
If you kill DBUS, trash applet works as expected, but too many other things stop
working to make this a valid "work around".
